There Are Spoilers In Our Dragon Ball Super Episode 114 Review – Discussion

So the latest episode of Dragon Ball Super just aired and in this one Goku continues with his fight against both Caulifla and Kale. Will he be able to beat them and continue on to fight Jiren in a rematch?

As we know from previous episodes, Goku is in a weakened state and is slowly powering up during his fight with both Caulifla and Kale. Last week we saw him go to SS3 for a bit as the battle with Super Saiyan 2 Caulifla and the rage fllled Kale was getting a bit much. This week we see Goku continue in his Super Saiyan 2 form, but it is Kale who powers up this time.

We see Kale go back into her Berserk form, which we know she has had trouble controlling in the past. When she does it this time, it takes a bit for her to even recognise Caulifla. But as something different this time around, Caulifla is able to calm Kale and she gains the abillty to control her power in her berserk form. The two young women then continue with their assault on Goku.

From here there’s some funny scenes with Frieza who is about to go into battle with someone in a police suit that isn’t very strong, but he isn’t bothered by him. I think interestingly before this, there is a comment from Dyspo where he seems to see Frieza looking for an opponent, but doesn’t want to bother with him. Does this mean that Frieza could beat him? I think this might be an interesting encounter in the future.

The big thing with this episode though happened towards the end. Goku being unable to best Caulifla and Kale, transforms into super saiyan god (red). When he does this, the two women are no longer able to match him and they’re about to be taken out of the tournament for good. Interestingly Goku says that one day after the tournament, he would like to fight them again, this is another indication I think that characters from Universe 6 are likely to hang around after the tournament saga ends in some way.

But that wasn’t even the biggest moment. The biggest moment was Caulifla and Kale using the Potara fusion rings to fuse into an all new character, this is named Kefla. This whole sequence was very well done and I was blown away by this fusion, even though I was knew about it through spoilers and last week’s trailer, seeing it happen was very cool.

Kefla, much like when Vegeta and Goku fused to become Vegito, is a super powerful version of the two and as her angel said in this episode, her power is magnified tens of times. The emergence of Kefla in the tournament will change things quite a lot. Goku to me looks way too warn out to fight someone this strong.

The main problem that I think Goku has with Kelfa is that of speed. We saw a few episodes ago when Goku went and fought Dyspo, he used super saiyan god in red to fight because it was a faster form than blue to fight in. But in this episode we see Goku in this form unable to even land a punch. Kefla does land a massive blow right to Goku’s head and it looked easy for her.

The only thing I can see happening is that possibly Frieza needs to step in here to help Goku out, Vegeta is occupied with Toppo at the moment. There are still the androids out and about who could help, but we haven’t seen them for some time.

Next week looks like it’s going to be a big episode. The title alone suggests that Goku is in trouble “Super saiyan blue defeated?” I’m excited to see the rest of the fight, as Frieza said in this episode, it certainly will be entertaining.
