Helldivers PS4 Gameplay

Published

on

Helldivers is a new game coming to the PlayStation 4, 3 and Vita and will be also cross platform game meaning that anyone on any of these consoles can play in the same game with each other. Helldivers is a 2-4 players top down shooter co-operative action/shooting game. The game comes from Arrowhead who also developed the Majicka series. Each level sees the players overcome different waves of enemies.

The game is set in a dystopian future where the military and the government  are fighting to protect a place called “Super Earth”. The war is currently being lost against the alien race and it’s only the Helldivers who are able to win it. They are the last chance that the humans have to save themselves.

The game will focus around battles though that go from planet to planet. So different levels and stages will likely see the players venturing to different environments. There is a large emphasis on co-operative play with friendly fire being something that must be taken into account. Also when watching the video you will see there is a reliance on teammates and their ability to provide you with ammunition and back each other up during the gameplay stages.

Helldivers will be releasing in later in 2014, it will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment and an exact release date has not been announced at this time.

Oddworld Abe’s Oddysee PS4 Trailer

Published

on

Oddworld Abe’s Oddysee is returning to PlayStation on July 22 2014, which is very soon. Fans of the Oddworld series like myself are likely very interested in this PlayStation One remake.

Abe

Abe

The game was one of my favourite games on the PlayStation One back when I used to play it and actually Abe’s Oddysee was the first game I got with my PlayStation One console along with Crash Bandicoot. So I have many fond memories of playing not only this game but the whole series of Odddworld games on the PS1. I don’t know how much fun this one will be considering it’s the same thing just reworked for the console but it’s definitely something that has me interested. The story of Abe and his adventure is one of the most heart warming in gaming and was certainly one of the best ones from the beginning of PlayStation.

I’m hoping this game can get people who haven’t had a chance to play it on PS1 before into the series and also get people back like who me who have and are just interested in coming back to the game. Hopefully it’s something good and has been well made. I guess we’ll have to see in a few weeks time!

The Last Of US PS4 Trailer & Thoughts

Published

on

The Last Of Us is coming to the PlayStation 4 and many who have owned a PlayStation 3 before will likely have played through the game in its entirety. I myself bought and played through the game and loved it so much I gave it a 10/10 in my review which you can read right here.

But now the game is returning and some might be thinking should they even buy it for a second playthrough. I myself do not intend to purchase this game at all on the PS4 because even though the graphics might be improved and made better and really only slightly better on the new console, it’s not the reason I see for purchasing the game.

When I played this game on the PS3, for me it was all about the story and following the characters. The reality of the situations faced throughout my first playthrough and how I chose to play things out is something that I think can’t be repeated. I have only completed the game once since I have had it and that was for my first playthrough. I have not once felt the need to go through and replay the story, even though it occurs to me every now and again to do it, I just don’t do it. For me the experience of the first playthrough for this game was more than enough and I don’t see any reason to repeat it, for me it was perfect.

While I did replay some of the chapters after I had completed it, replaying them felt more like completing challenges rather than playing through the story, (I mainly just did it quickly to check out the hardest difficulty). How quick could I get through a level? Or how quickly could I kill everything now that I know where everyone will be? While there is I hear a new difficulty level for the game, I don’t see it as really the point of the Last Of Us. For me the game was and always has been about the story and the characters. Surviving through the game with them and using your wits here and there made the experience. Getting to know Joel and Ellie and everyone else is The Last Of Us experience and you can do that on the PS3 without a problem.

I don’t tend to read a really good book a second time and I don’t intend to play through this story a second time. I don’t know how many other people feel this way about the game, but if I want to replay it, I can just play it again on my PS3. I can’t see any reason to buy it again, unless you are a true hardcore fan or really just play for graphics alone. But for me, this does nothing. I will happily keep my version of The Last Of Us on my shelf for a long time though as it’s one of the best games on the PS3.

If you haven’t played the game then go for the PS4 one as you will likely get a better experience, but you could also just save yourself a lot of money and just get the original really cheap right now. If you want to compare the two games, you can check out the trailers right here. It’s your choice, if you haven’t played the game before, it’s a great game. But for me, I’ve already got the version I want and I thought it was perfect, I don’t want a slightly improved one.

NHL 15 Trailer Plus Images

Published

on

Here is the latest trailer for NHL 15 which is due to be released on the 12th of September 2014. NHL 15 will see the series move to next generation consoles which includes the PS4 and Xbox One as well as PS3 and Xbox 360.

You can see that there is some improvement to the way the character models look in the game. Although I would stress that the models in the trailer are not really gameplay models, it’s a very stylized trailer. But it does have a good song and it’s edited really well so the game does look interesting. I’m sure hockey fans will be taking a keen interest in the way the game looks as more is released about it.
