No Pools, No Toddlers In The Sims 4

Today Sim Guru Ryan posted a blog on the Sims Website which had two very interesting details about the new Sims 4 game which is due to be released during September this year. It seems that pools, which is a long time feature of the Sims in all the games so far will not be appearing in the base game and also there will be no Toddlers as well.

With regards to pools it was said that:

“pool building won’t be available in September, we do have a new Fountain Tool so you can create sophisticated landscapes. Whether you were a novice builder in The Sims 3, or an experienced pro, I really think you’re going to love The Sims 4’s build mode.”

With Regards to toddlers it was said that:

” And while we recognize that some of you will be disappointed that pools and toddlers won’t be available when The Sims 4 Base Game launches in September, you should know that we’re building an incredibly strong foundation that is capable of fulfilling every one of your desires in the years to come. The future of The Sims 4 is bright!”

It’s important to note here that the game does have babies and other life stages, just not the toddler stage. Sim Guru Ryan mentioned “we have babies, children, teens, young adults, adults and elders” which will be the life stages in The Sims 4.

I for one really am disappointing that there are no pools in the game. For me when I mention the Sims to people, most people all know that you can kill a Sim you don’t like by removing the ladder in the pool so they can’t get out, everyone has done it since the Sims 1. It’s not only about that though, you won’t be able to go swimming without the pools or get your physical skill up easily as well. What are you going to have your Sims save up for now without a fancy pool to invest in at your new home? I don’t know why they haven’t put pools in the Sims 4, it’s always been such a large part of the game.
