Stuttererer, the winner of the 2016 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film, is now available online for free.
The New Yorkerer uploaded the 13-minute film on October 17. The short is written, directed, and edited by Benjamin Cleary, who leased his apartment and lived on his friends’ couches to create his freshman flick, according to No Film School.
Stutterer follows a man with a stutter – believe it or not – advancing in an online relationship that’s beginning to get serious.
And here’s Beasts of No Nation’s Abraham Attah and Room’s Jacob Tremblary handing Oscars to Cleary and co-producer Serena Armitage back in February.
Cleary has since written Love is a Sting, another short film that has been long-listed for this year’s Oscar. He’s currently writing his first feature film, according to his website.
