PlayStation announced as an official partner of Movember in Australia. They are aiming to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health during the month of November.
In talking about PlayStation’s support for the campaign, Larissa Hazel, Head of Marketing Communications at PlayStation said, “We’re extremely excited to be a part of Movember. In Australia, we have a fantastic opportunity to bring the PlayStation community together and take part in a simple yet brilliantly fun way of raising awareness of men’s health issues.”
In an effort to encourage people to support the initiative Galahad from The Order 1886 will regrow his moustache for the first time ever alongside fans who join his team at Movember.com. Fans will also be given a chance to win illustrations of PlayStation characters participating in Movember, these will be drawn by Tom Mac and include characters such as LittleBigPlanet’s Sackboy, Ellie from The Last of Us and Delsin from InFamous.
Anyone who manages to raise AUD$20 in donations will receive automatic entry into a prize draw to win a PS4, PS Vita and selection of games.
JC, Movember’s Co-Founder added, “Our aim is to encourage men to grow moustaches that generate funds and spark conversations around men’s health. Having this opportunity to work with PlayStation to engage with their passionate community will help us drive awareness of Movember.”
Those in Australia who wish to register in this can do so through http://au.movember.com/ and then must search for the “Team PlayStation AU” link and join through there.
