Head on down to Pow’ Town — The Sims 4 Snowy Escape brings the fun of extreme sports in the serene setting of Japan.
In The Sims 4 Snowy Escape, our sims can travel to a new location world based on the North of Japan. Mt Komorebi is a fictional, Japanese-inspired landscape filled with tradition, experiences and a whole mountain full of snow! The Sims 4 Snowy Escape allows players to explore this Japanese inspired town through hiking, serene walks, rock-climbing, skiing, snowboarding and so much more.
There’s “Snow” Place Like Home
You don’t need to “escape” to Komorebi at all! With the addition of exciting new items in Buy and Build Mode you can create a Japanese styled lots for your sims to enjoy at home. The catalogue includes a whole “house” set. Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom — and it all matches!! Usually, we are only presented a few items and certain rooms are left out. You could build a whole new house and furnish it with items that are only in this pack. New items are available in a variety of swatches, including White, Black and Light and Dark Wood colours.
Create a Sim gives us new fashions based on Japanese style. A new “silky” texture for jackets and traditional Kimonos is an amazing new addition and gives detail like we’ve never seen in The Sims 4. The Snow/Outdoor wear reminds me of “Kathmandu” or “SuperDry” brands. Lots of puffy, comfy, warm and protective gear — as well as some beautiful traditional wear for locals and visitors alike. Again, the Create a Sim hairs are amazing, including some colourful hairstyles and blunt fringes to get that “Japanese” look.
A Snowy Escape wouldn’t be complete without the addition of the new Gameplay features. Snowboarding, Skiing, Sledding, Mountain Climbing, Nature Walks, New Festivals, Vending Machines, a heated-seated table (traditionally known as a Kotatsu Table) and huge outdoor spa’s called Onsens. This Expansion Pack also includes a new Career, Traits and Aspirations even new DEATHS. (Mwahaha!) All the excitement you need to fulfil your Sim’s Mt Komorebi experience.
A new game update was released at the same time Snowy Escape became available. This update brings new “lifestyle and sentiment” gameplay. The content in the update is available for all games in the franchise, so it isn’t really fair to give any extra credit to the Snowy Escape Expansion Pack.
Walking on Thin Ice
This pack would be a great addition for someone who has only a select few of the DLC packs. If you are new to The Sims 4 Franchise — you now have the opportunity to have a bunch of exciting content in one pack. Snowy Escape includes elements from other packs — such as Snow (from Seasons), Asian Style Food (Get Together), Camping (Outdoor Retreat), Rock Climbing (Fitness Stuff) and Swimming in natural bodies of water (Island Living). However, as a long time player, I was looking forward to some new content. I might be bold in saying that The Sims 4 Snowy Escape is ambiguous and repetitive.
If you are looking for an “overall” experience to add to your existing game, then The Sims 4 Snowy Escape might be the cool change your game needs.
“The Sims 4: Snowy Escape” Expansion Pack is now Available on EA Origin.
