Arnold Schwarzengger revealed quite a bit in an interview with Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung. The actor has three long-awaited projects — a sequel to Twins and another installment in his Terminator and Conan franchises — filming one after another starting this fall.
“In the fall I start the shooting on the comedy Triplets with Eddie Murphy and Danny DeVito,” Schwarzenegger said, according to a translation from The Playlist. “In March next year, I am shooting Terminator 6, [producers] James Cameron and David Ellison are back on board and then comes a Conan.”
Triplets was announced all the way back in March 2012 with The Legend of Conan following in October 2012. The fifth Terminator film, Terminator: Genisys, was released in 2015, but the exact future of the franchise was up in the air when it was announced Cameron was regaining rights to the franchise in 2019 and the rumor from January said was he was planning to shepherd a reboot. Now, the gears appear to be in motion for Schwarzenegger’s old roles.
Schwarzenegger’s latest film, Aftermath, was released direct-to-video and in limited release in April. Rotten Tomatoes reports a 39% “Rotten” approval rating from 41 critics. Back to the old franchises we go!
