Vikings Season 4 Australian Release Date
Original Release Date: The Vikings season 4 Australian release date is Wednesday February 24, 2016, at 8:30 pm on SBS One. On SBS One the first week of season 4 will air on the channel with two episodes on the same night. After the first week though, the show will continue to air every Wednesday night at 9:30 pm with single episodes airing each week until Vikings season 4 ends.
Vikings Season 4 Part 2 Australian Release Date
Update 7: The Vikings Season 4 Australian release date for part 2 on SBS is Wednesday January 11 2017 at 8:30pm. It’s a little over a month behind the US air date for the same episode, which means fans have to wait quite some time still.
Update 6: The Vikings Season 4 Australian Release Date on Foxtel is December 15 at 8:30pm on the FX channel. They will be starting season 4 from the beginning with the same episodes we saw earlier this year. Great for people who might have missed it on SBS or want to rewatch them again.
Update 5: It’s recently been announced that in the US, Vikings season 4 part 2 will return on November 30, 2016. I will update this post again when I hear back from SBS about the Vikings Season 4 Australian release date for part 2.
Update 4: I’ve noticed that on IMDB the July 7 US release date for episode 11 has been removed. The US release date for season 4 part 2 of Vikings us currently unknown (please ignore update 2, it’s old info now). The first trailer for season 4 part 2 has been released now. Update 3: SBS has gotten back to us about the return of Vikings Season 4 part 2. The Vikings Season 4 Australian release date for part 2 of season 4 has no official date as of yet, but could potentially be in October. There is no exact date in October set yet though and it’s not official so one can only hope. I will update the post if hear more about it later in the year (I personally think it could even be after October since the US release date is now unknown).
Update 2: With the first half of the season now ended and the show being on a break after 10 episodes already, we now wait for the second part to air. It’s still unknown for the Vikings season 4 Australian release date for the second half, although it’s been seen that on IMDB, episode 11 is listed as airing on July 7, 2016 in the US. If Vikings airs in its usual time slot as it was for the first half, a week after the US on SBS, it’s possible it’s going to be the 13th of July, 2016 for us Australians (currently waiting for SBS to write back about the date and will update this post again when they do).
Update 1: It seems that there won’t be a double episode on the first week after all on SBS even though we were told there would be ages ago. After checking both Foxtel and free to air TV guides it seems that instead of a second episode there is another show after it called “The Vikings” currently listed. Episode one will still air at 8:30 on SBS and then I assume there will be one episode each week until it ends.
Interestingly, Season 4 of Vikings will be broken up into two parts as more episodes will be in this season compared with any previous season of the show. Season 4 will be a 16 episode season and will at one point take a break and air again in the second half of the year. This break is happening both in the US and in Australia and both territories have yet to announce the dates for the second half of the show When news comes of the Vikings season 4 Australian release date for the second part of the show, I will be sure to update this article with the news. But for now I only have knowledge of the Vikings Season 4 Australian release date for part 1 which will be the premiere day (February 24).

What can we expect in Vikings Season 4?
SBS has told us that in this season “The gripping family saga of Ragnar, Rollo, Bjorn and Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick – Love and Other Drugs, Stand Up Guys) continues as alliances and loyal friendships are questioned, faith is catechised and relationships are strained. Vikings tells the extraordinary tales of the lives and epic adventures of these warriors and portrays life in the Dark Ages, a world ruled by raiders and explorers, through the eyes of Viking society. Season four will introduce King Harold Finehair (Peter Franzén – A Summer by the River, Ambush) and his chaotic younger brother Halfdan the Black (Jasper Pääkkönen – Bad Boys, Frozen Land) to challenge Ragnar and exotic slave Yidu (Dianne Doan – Disney’s Descendants) to captivate him.”
