Xbox One released just a few months ago and everyone already knows the launch lineup and what is available for the console. But with a new year upon us and many months of games it might be good to outline the best of what is offered for 2014. So what games can gamers look forward on Xbox One in 2014?
1. “D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die” (Microsoft Studios)
This game comes from the creator of “Deadly Premonition” Hidetaka Suehiro. The game casts the player in the role of a detective who has the ability to change the course of time as he tries to solve his wife’s murder. It’s a kinect based game utilising voice commands during seated gameplay.
2. Tom Clancy’s The Division” (Ubisoft)
A lethal virus is released on Black Friday that sweeps through all of New York City. Slowly services in the city fail and the society crumbles. The President issues directive 51 and launches a team known as The Division, which is made up of tactical agents who must determine a way to stop the virus.

3. Dragon Age: Inquisition” (EA)
This game comes from Ea and Bioware famous for making the Mass Effect series. In this action RPG a cataclysmic event sends the land of Thedas into disaster. Dragons arrive that strike fear into the lands kingdoms. Tensions rise between mages and templars sparking a war. You must lead an inquisition that aims to get to the bottom of this chaos and madness and restore order.

4. “Dying Light” (Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment)
Dying Light is a first person action survival horror game, where players must try their best to survive against a growing outbreak. They must scavenge for supplies as they explore and open world where the further they go, the more aggressive the infected enemies become.
5. “EA Sports UFC” (EA Sports)
Self explanatory, but this game allows player to play as their favourite UFC champions, which for the first time ever allows for female playable characters in the game. You can find out more about UFC here.
6. “The Elder Scrolls Online” (Bethesda)
This game brings players back to the world of Skyrim, in an online way that connects everyone to the same adventure. Players will be able to explore lands such as Morrowind and Daggerfall.
7. “Kinect Sports Rivals” (Microsoft Studios)
Another Kinect game for the Xbox One which allows players to play a variety of Sports games using their next generation Kinect which allows for great precision tracking for player movements like never before.
8. “Minecraft: Xbox One Edition” (Mojang)
The new Minecraft game boasts larger maps than the Xbox 360 version for players to explore and have bigger adventures when they play their Minecraft.
9. “Project Spark” (Microsoft Studios)
Project Spark is a digital playground for players to create their own levels and design their own worlds. It’s a game positioned to appeal to creative players and people to have a fun with. It will also link people’s creations to a community so that people can see and share what they make. Project Spark will be a free digital download for Xbox One, Windows 8.1 and Xbox 360 players. Players will also be able to carry in game progress from one platform to another.
10. “Sunset Overdrive” (Microsoft Studios, Insomniac Games)
Sunset Overdrive is an open world shooter that places in a world that is overrun by mutants. Players will receive some overpowered weapons to help them fend off these mutants and keep them away from their city.

11. “Thief” (Square Enix)
You play as Garret a master theif, who comes out of the shadows in his city and robs anyone of their possessions. Nobody is safe!
12. “Titanfall” (EA, Respawn Entertainment)
Titanfall is the much publicized Microsoft exclusive first party shooter that will be available for the Xbox One from Respawn Entertainment and EA. You can find out more about Titanfall and view its gameplay right here.
13. “Warface” (Crytek)
This will be a free to play first person shooter from Crytek. The game is set in the near future, it emphasises cooperative campaign missions, a continual supply of new maps, new weapons, boosts and more. It’s a game that constantly will aim to update and add more content.
14. “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” (CD Projekt Red)
This game emphasizes a non linear story telling approach to its narrative. It will be an open world fantasy RPG game. The boasts 100 hours of gameplay and story telling between both the core and side quests. The Witcher 3 is aiming to redefine the genre of RPG fantasy games for the next generation.
15. “World of Tanks” (Microsoft Studios)
This is a game dedicated to Tank warfare in the 20th century, where players can take command of some of history’s best tanks. It’s an online mulitplayer game where players take part in tactical team based games.
I am sure that there are many more games that aren’t on this list, but for now these look to be the best of Xbox One that is known currently that players can expect to be playing in 2014.
