This week on Blu-ray: Australia gets three new releases while America gets five. Who has the better titles though? Let’s find out!
AUSTRALIA RELEASES
Flight lands on Blu-ray this week. Denzel Washington delivers an Oscar nominated performance in this Drama that, on a budget of $31 million, grossed $161.7 million worldwide making the film a box office success. Two different Blu-ray bundles are available, one with a DVD copy and one without.

Safe Haven comes to Blu-ray this week. Nicholas Spark’s latest hit had a budget of $28 million and made $71.3 million making the film a box office success. No DVD or any Digital Copy seems to be included.

1993’s “Sommersby” is released on Blu-ray. The Jodie Foster Romance had an unknown budget but made $140 million worldwide making it the eighth highest PG-13 film of 1993. No DVD or any Digital Copy seems to be included.

AMERICA RELEASES
21 & Over is released on Blu-ray this week. The Comedy had a teeny budget of $13 million and made $41.8 million worldwide making the film a box office success. The Blu-ray comes with a DVD but no Digital Copies.

Jack the Giant Slayer is released on Blu-ray this week. The Bryan Singer directed Adventure had a budget of $195 million and only made $197.6 million worldwide making the film a very small box office success. Two versions of the film are available both with Blu-rays, DVDs, Digital and Ultraviolet copies but one version has a 3D Blu-ray. I loved Jack the Giant Slayer and you can read my full review here.

The Last Exorcism Part II is released on Blu-ray this week. The Horror sequel had an absurdly small budget of $5 million and made $15.1 million making the film a box office success. The Blu-ray does not come with any DVD or Digital Copies.

1985’s Lifeforce comes to Blu-ray for the very first time this week. The Patrick Stewart Sci-Fi Horror film had an unknown budget and only made $11.6 million in the box office. The Blu-ray comes with a DVD copy.

Movie 43 comes to Blu-ray this week. The star studded Comedy had a small budget of $6 million and made $29.9 million worldwide making the film a box office success. The Blu-ray comes with a DVD and Ultraviolet copy.

That’s it for this week in the box office. According to Rotten Tomatoes, Australia’s films average to a “Rotten” 51% while America’s films average to a “Rotten” 32% with the highest rated film being Flight with a 78% “Certified Fresh” rating and the lowest being Movie 43 with a “Rotten” 4%. Not the best week in Blu-rays but Australia does take home the blue.
