The show starts off by talking about Star Wars. A video is played which is voiced by Niklas Fergreaus who speaks about growing up with the Star Wars universe and how emotional it was visiting Lucas archives to capture the models and props. He spoke about also travelling back to the original movie locations in order to capture the environment. It’s all for Star Wars Battlefront.
Andrew Wilson the CEO of EA then comes to the stage and thanks the team of Dice for their work with Star Wars Battlefront. Says that the show is being done a little bit different this year with previews of games that are nearly done and also looking at some that are being worked on behind the scene.
Andrew Wilson says EA has a “commitment to putting players first” and a “commitment to listen to you”. Speaks about the foundation behind Electronic Arts.
Somebody then comes on stage and does a music performance with the Cello for Dragon Age Inquisition which is played while the gameplay footage is shown.
Aaron Flynn then comes on stage and continues talking about the Dragon Age Inquisition game. “You step into the world on the brink of chaos”. Talks about the different types of party members and how to use that against the apex predator of their world, the high dragon. We are then shown more gameplay of the game. After the gameplay trailer he talks about the “Tactical camera” in the game and a bit about how to play very briefly. We are then shown another trailer for Dragon Age Inquisition which tells us about some of the characters in the game. The game will be out October 7, 2014.
We then get to see a video with some developers talking about Mass Effect. We get to see some conceptual images for the game and the video says fans will be surprised how far the game is going to go with the power of the new consoles. It’s a short video from Bioware about what they are working on.
Rachel Franklin the executive producer of the Sims then comes onto the stage to introduce us to the next generation of the Sims. The Sims 4. Talks about how you control the mind and body of your Sims and for the first time “you control their hearts”
The Sims 4 will feature vibrant rich neighborhoods. We are then shown a scene in the gym where Sims are happy, energized and depressed. There seems to be a focus on how emotions can impact your gameplay experiences. “Personality drives behaviour creating richer stories” says Rachel Franklin.
She then moves onto talking about The Sims 4 gallery which is full of homes and Sims created by other players. You will be able to bring other players Sims directly into your game.
It also seems that you can push a Sims emotion so far that it can kill them, Chuck is shown to become so happy that he dies from laughter and we then get to see the new Grim Reaper.
September 2nd is mentioned as the date that the Sims 4 will come out and then we get to see a new trailer for the Sims 4.
We then are shown a video of Bruce Lee and his appearance in this years UFC game. Brian Hayes from the UFC team then comes up on stage to talk about the game. He just talks about Bruce Lee and John Jones and different fighters you can play as. We are then shown some gameplay footage of the UFC game which is available June 17.
Then Dean Richards comes on and starts talking about the NHL franchise. Mentions “the new generation of hockey player”. Talks about highlight reel goals and the new physics for the NHL 15 game.
Patrick Soderlund then comes onto the stage and starts talking about speed.
We are then shown a video from Criterion which shows a bit of their workplace and they talk about their passion for racing and speed. A new IP that they are working on. We get to see some prototype footage and they forget to mention the title of the game they are working on. Good to know they made it while at the pub though.
Cam Weber then comes on the stage and talks about EA and Golf. Talks about how EA sports PGA tour will be using Frostbite 3. “Golf without limits” he says about the new game and then we see a video for the new Golf game. Then he continues on to talk about Madden and some of the new gameplay. Madden 15 will be launching on August 26 and then the new Madden Trailer is shown.
A video for Dawngate is then shown and some developers from Dawngate talk about MOBA and their characters. The talk about the “massive epic story arc”.
Andrew Wilson the CEO then returns back on stage. He says we hope you like what we’ve seen today. Talks about he they are trying to embrace feedback and trying to put players first. Sort of the same as what he said at the start.
Then some Mirror’s Edge comes on screen and we get to see another developer video. This one is interesting to watch and talks about making the main character faith. The use of the pakour artists that they used when making the game. The game footage shown is still prototype so it looks to be still being worked on.
David Rutter comes on to talk about FIFA, says “you will feel the game” stresses the emotional intelligence and that players will now have memories. Talks about player control, the new ball physics and spin and the athleticism of the players. Then we are shown a long trailer for FIFA 15.
Karl Magnes Troedsson and Steve Papoustis take the stage to talk about Battlefield Hardline.
It’s a game that focuses on cops v criminals and is a different direction for the series. We then get to see very long gameplay footage of the game.
It is then announced that you can get into the Beta for the game for the PC and the Playstation 4. Adam Boyes comes on and talks about how to get the Beta on the PS4 and says that it won’t last long so be quick. To get it you have to go to your Battlefield 4 icon on your PS4 and then click on the Beta icon to download. A screenshot is in the image below.
The Beta is announced as live and that’s it, that’s the end of the show.
The show ends and everyone stands up and leaves.
