Javier Bardem is currently in talks to be the villain in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
This is according to The Wrap where “multiple individuals familiar with the Disney sequel have told” them.
The Academy Award winning actor just finished filming “The Gunman” set for a February 20, 2015 release in the United States and is currently filming the Sean Penn directed “The Last Face”. He has no other projects at this time so his schedule is certainly clear.
What’s noteworthy here is Javier Bardem’s wife, Penelope Cruz, starred in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as Angelica. She’s currently not set to star in the fifth film but the only official cast member is Johnny Depp so she certainly might slide in.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is set for a July 7, 2017 release.
