Jumanji: The Next Level is a the second film in the new Jumanji franchise and it has all the main cast members from the first film return such as Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black and Kevin Hart. We also get some new actors joining in this time including Danny Devito and Awkwafina. The film comes directed by Jake Kasdan who some may also know as the director of the first Jumanji film in this new franchise.
Every year around this time of the year a lot of families are on holidays and the kids are out of school. We always get a bunch of family friendly films to choose from and Jumanji: The Next Level is one of the films we can choose to see this year. But should you take your family out to see this one? I think so. I had a great time with this film and found it to be just as fun as the first one. If your family enjoyed the first Jumanji film from this director and these cast members then you are likely to have a good time with this one.
The film is quite funny with all four main cast members including Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black and Kevin Hart all having great comedic timing. I enjoy this cast and they all work well together. I’m glad that we got a sequel and I’d be happy to even see a third film be added to this franchise.
The story is quite good. I don’t want to really spoil it but basically one of the characters goes back into the Jumanji game alone and the rest of the characters follow them in there to rescue them. I don’t want to spoil much more but the movie does have a very nice meaning to it in the end about life and friendship and it’s all very nice. Danny Devito also adds quite a bit of charm to the experience.
If you are looking for a family friendly film to see during this years holiday period with your family then Jumanji: The Next Level is one of the best choice you can make. It is funny, the cast are all great and it’s got a nicely told story and overall meaning to it all. Happy to recommend seeing Jumanji: The Next Level at the cinema.
