Peter Capaldi has today been named as the 12th Doctor for Doctor Who. Interestingly Peter Capaldi was actually an actor in Torchwood which fans would know is a Doctor Who spin off TV show following Jack Harkness. Peter Capaldi played John Frobisher in Torchwood: Children of Earth.
