“The Sims 4: Parenthood” Game Pack Review

Into The Future is an expansion for The Sims 3 that is coming out very soon in Australia on October 24 and in New Zealand on the 25th. Into the future is quite a large expansion for the Sims 3 and allows the player to take their Sims into the world of the future, where robots roam the world and Sims drive hover cars.

Into the future is an interesting new expansion in that your Sim is able to travel forward and back in time to meddle with their future outcomes and the state of the world. Depending on what you do with your Sim in the present will determine if the future becomes a happy bright utopia or a dark and grim dystopian future. In the future you can visit your Sims descendants and find out what they are like and have fun checking out your Sims legacy. It’s an interesting new concept for the Sims 3 and should be a lot of fun to play around with time.

What is most exciting about the new expansion to me, is the cars and the vehicles. Now I thought that the Movie Stuff supercycle was an awesome purchase when I reviewed the Movie Stuff pack recently, but I have to say these Into The Future vehicles look like a lot of fun. In this expansion you can purchase not only hover cars, but travel on the hover monorail, get a hover board, catch a hover taxi and even purchase your own jet pack! I don’t know which I’ll buy first but the jet pack sure does look like a lot of fun for a Sim to use.

But as you know having cool looking vehicles to drive around in is great and all, but you do need a great looking new world to drive them around in. Into The Future comes with a futuristic world which looks quite interesting to explore and live in with your Sim. The brave new world of the future in this expansion is called Oasis Landing. Oasis Landing is an interesting place because as its name suggests it’s an oasis. If you look at the city as a whole it is this beautiful, architectural futuristic wonder. But surrounding the city is actually a baron sort of desolate, desert environment. It’s interesting and looks like a fun city to explore , plus the added element of time travelling would be a lot of fun to mess around with as doing so impacts the outcomes of this future Oasis.

Also added to the expansion are many additions to your sims, such as the new hair styles, new clothes, and even new traits for the future Sims. One trait being something known as a bot fan where the Sim loves the bots so much they desire to even be one, one day. It seems in the future every Sims loves the bots and careers can be made by becoming a plubmbot dealer (plumbing bots).

Would you like to be a Sim or a bot?
Would you like to be a Sim or a bot?

In into the future you can actually play as a bot or even have an entire bot family of your own. Bots can be played just like a Sim and don’t age as Sims do. You can customise your bot and make your bot gain skills just as a Sim would. It’s an interesting concept as playing as a bot is a lot different to being a Sim, for one thing do bots sleep? What does a bot dream about? It’s all so very interesting and I look forward to this bot concept in into the future.

The Bot life, in Into the Future. Just how good is it?

But you know being a bot is cool and all, but nothing beats the Sim life. Playing as a Sim in Into The Future is just as fun especially dressing them up and taking them to all the futuristic places. The fashion in the future is a lot different to the past and your Sims will either have style or they won’t, depending on how you dress them up. The places you can take your Sim also sound fun with new stores such the future shopping plaza and all the outdoor cafe’s.

Exploring Oasis Landing with your Sim, just what is this Sim up to?
Exploring Oasis Landing with your Sim, is as much fun as being a bot, plus nothing beats the added emotion of a Sim

Overall Into the Future looks to be a great Sims 3 expansion. There is a lot being added to the game for players to have fun with and visit with their Sim. Possibly more is added to this expansion than the previous Island Paradise one, and hopefully this expansion will be just as fun to play as well.

Everything looks great about into the future and be sure to check back on Resident Entertainment for my review after it’s released.
