The Sims 4 was today announced to us at Resident Entertainment as being currently in development. The game is mentioned as being released next year in 2014 for both PC and Mac.
What’s interesting about the media release is that it says “The Sims 4 celebrates the heart and soul of the Sims themselves, giving players a deeper connection with the most expressive, surprising and charming Sims ever in this single-player offline experience.” -EA. EA is choosing to emphasise the offline experience for this Sims 4 game which is welcoming as it is the current norm for the Sims experience. Much different of course to the emphasis placed on the online experience promoted for the recently released Sim City.
While it appears the game focuses on the offline single player experience, it will also have a sharing functionality allowing players to share what they have created with their friends.
While little else is known to us about the new Sims 4 game, other than the announcement of its development and expected release you can be sure to check back with Resident Entertainment for all the latest Sims news. Such as the recently covered Sims 3 Paradise Island livestream.
