Attention Handheld Gamers — The Sims 4 is coming to MOBILE!!

EA have announced that they will be releasing “The Sims 4” as a mobile game starting as a small release from today. There is no information on how long it will be until Australia receives it but this is a big move for the guys at The Sims. Mobile gaming has grown significantly in the last 5 years, with no sign of stopping so far. “Sims Free Play” was released almost 6 years ago, and is apparently still going strong. “The Sims 4 Mobile” will not replace “Sims Free Play”, however I bet they are hoping to get a new generation of Sims Players from this Mobile release.

Aside from the trailer, there is limited information. We do know that “The Sims 4 Mobile” is in Real Time similar to “Sims Free Play”, so if you send your sim to work, you will need to wait for him/her to return. So much pain! The trailer states: “Shape Your Sims Legacy, Create Unique Sims, Build a Home, Play Together“, and as you play the game (and buy more with in-app transactions) you will unlock more interactions, careers and even heirlooms for future generations. The “Play Together” feature does have me interested… but, I would only play this outside of my house, where there are real people to converse and socialise with. So… ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I actually do play a lot of Mobile Games, but this is not what I am interested in from the Sims. The games I play on Mobile are simple, puzzle games with an easy interface. I can already see this being something that I will play for maybe a couple of days, and then never play again. While this might not be my cup of tea, perhaps it is yours! Let me know your thoughts in the comments below or feel free to follow me on Twitter and drop me a line.

Rejoice PC Simmers, there’s news for you too!

The Sims 4: Parenthood was just announced!

A new trailer was released from The Sims 4 Youtube channel this morning, after a short teaser snippet yesterday. The Sims 4 Parenthood is the next installation in The Sims 4 franchise, and this time it is a Game Pack. (Not as big as an Expansion, but more than a Stuff Pack!) The trailer boasts the following features; Shape Your Sims Childhood, Personalise Your Household and Enjoy New Family Activities. It’s pretty obvious that this pack is going to bring a lot of “family” elements to our games. It looks like there will be a big focus on learning and growing, and helping toddler, child and teen sims make the most out of their traits. There seems to be a lot of things to build and create; such as the Building Table, School Projects and generally there just seems to be a lot of creativity going on. Watch below to see how I reacted the first time I saw the new Parenthood trailer, and for some more in-depth thoughts and opinions as I delve deeper into the video.

It’s safe to say, I am REALLY excited for this new Game Pack and it’s about time! I feel like this might be the best pack to come out in a long time, and it goes perfectly with the Toddlers Update we received in January.

The Sims 4 Parenthood will be available from Origin on the 31st of May!
