The PS5 is a great console to have if you can find it that is. With the stock of the console being low since launch, there seems no end in sight to the low supply. This means we got to be extra vigilant in order to find a unit. Here’s a list of all the places to buy a PS5 in Australia.
Where To Buy A PS5 in Australia
Amazon Australia
Amazon Australia often has stock of the PS5 every month or so, but they disappear quickly. So if you see one available you got to be quick. There are two listings for PS5 on their website. A disc version and the digital version.
BIG W
BIG W, just like Amazon has stock of the PS5 almost monthly, but you got to be quick with it as they sell out quickly. This is the store where I actually was able to finally get one. All I can recommend here to do is to make sure you have an account with BIG W ready to go so if you see the console in stock you can quickly add it to cart and check out. That’s what I did a few months ago and it worked for me.
Sony Store
This is the official store of Sony. Occasionally they have stock of the PS5 and it is worth visiting from time to time to see if you get lucky. I have never sighted one in stock there myself, but I’ve had friends who have seen it at least once.
JB Hi-Fi
This is a very popular retailer with many store locations. They often have stock. One secret I do know is that if you go in the store and chat to one of the people in the gaming section, you can get on a waiting list. They may call you if they get in-store stock at your local store. I did do this and I was called to come and get one, but at the time I was lucky enough to have just secured one at BIG W, so let someone else in the line claim it.
EB Games
This is a dedicated gaming store and they often get stock. When I went there recently, I was not able to get myself on any waiting list at this store. I was told it’s full and they’re not adding more to their list. Might be different now as I had gone in there months ago to ask, but that’s the reason these guys are last. Try your luck online or in-store if you’ve got time.
