Hugh Jackman posted a photo of one set of Wolverine claws on Instagram with the caption “WOLVERINE …ONE LAST TIME”.
The actor has mentioned his retirement of the character before, but he’s never made a claim like this. Just a reminder that this isn’t official at all, but this shouldn’t be taken with a grain of salt.
Jackman was expected to show up in X-Men: Apocalypse (since he’s shown up in every X-Men film so far) but it looks like the actor’s next and final appearance will be in the untitled Wolverine film set for March 3, 2017. A cameo in Apocalypse or possibly Deadpool or Gambit isn’t out of the question though.
Jackman has played the mutant a whopping seven times now over 15 years.
