Hold the Garlic!! Get ready to sink your teeth into “The Sims 4: Vampires“!
Vampires are the first* “supernatural” life type added to The Sims 4 and the team have done some amazing work on this. After the announcement of Toddlers, in their latest free update, I know a lot of people have booted up their Sims Machines and started to play the base game again. Most players asking me, “What is the best Expansion Pack to start with?” and becoming confused by the choices between Expansion, Game and Stuff packs. They lose interest, fast. BUT! Now that The Sims 4 feels “complete” with toddlers, pools, and necessary NPC’s, I think it was the perfect time for EA and Maxis to release a new life form into the game.
Forgotten Hollow is the new neighbourhood included in “The Sims 4: Vampires” Game Pack. An abandoned and hidden land with five once beautiful mansions are now shrouded in fog, over run by thorns and protected by gargoyles. At night, the region comes alive! Bats take to the skies, moths flee to the comfortable glow of the nearest street lamp and I swore that I was being followed, by glowing red eyes in the trees… Eerie, creepy and dark, the perfect nook for those who live in the shadows.
To be a vampire is to harness the arcane powers that are only available to those who wish to learn. Study the occult in ancient tomes or learn from higher level vampires to unlock new virtues and level up to the Master. Vampiric powers include those such as Mind Control, the ability to turn into a Bat, or even turn other sims into Vampires. Don’t be too hasty with your supernatural lifestyle choices, because the more power you gain over time you will also fall to weaknesses such as Guilt, Illnesses and sudden bouts of hissing.
I was very lucky to receive early access from The Sims team in Australia. (Thank you!!) I spent a few hours going through this new Game Pack and while I wasn’t overly excited for Vampires, I have to say… I am impressed. Like “Dine Out”, there is a lot of content and I am really starting to enjoy the new “Game Packs” that add new elements to The Sims 4. Lots of items, textures, patterns and colours. Plenty of new objects with animations and interactions. I can tell a lot of hard work went into this pack. Aside from some game lag (probably my computer though…) and the fact we still can’t have hair without accessories, or be able to change the colours of the hair accessory… I am pretty content with this pack! Although, I have a lot more exploring to do and I cant wait to hear all the secrets everyone discover tomorrow!
“The Sims 4: Vampires” will be available for download from the Origin Game Client on the 25th of January 2017 in Australia.
*Not including Aliens, because… well. Shh.
Thank you so much for sharing.
I miss Vampire The Masquerade Redemption and Bloodlines. Does this have the same gothic vibe?
Hi there! Thanks for your comment!
This one is a Game Pack for The Sims 4, so it is similar to the base game, but you can now do “vampire” things. This one can’t really be compared to these such games because it is a completely different ball game. Although, if you already play The Sims, then I think you will enjoy this pack! I hope this helps!!
