Variety is reporting that director/producer/actor/man/old lady/writer Tyler Perry is set to play Baxter Stockman in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2”.
Perry will replace K. Todd Freeman who showed up as Baxter Stockman in a cameo in last year’s TMNT film.
Baxter Stockman is a mad scientist who creates the Mousers, little robots who hunt down sewer rats. Most incarnations of the character also see him be forced into the form of a fly.
Megan Fox, Will Arnett, and Danny Woodburn will be reprising their roles as April O’Neil, Vernon, and Splinter respectively. It’s currently unknown if any of the turtles’ motion-capture actors and voice actors will also return. Dave Green (director of “Earth to Echo”) is replacing Jonathan Liebesman as director with writers Josh Appelbaum & André Numec returning. Evan Daugherty, who received a screenwriting credit with Appelbaum and Numec on the 2014 film, is not returning.
It was recently announced that Stephen Amell will join the film as Casey Jones.
“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2” hits theaters on June 3, 2016.
